Sod Farm
Before the farm market, before the pumpkins, produce, and community events—it all started with sod. Our farm began as a specialized bluegrass sod operation, built on a strong foundation of agricultural knowledge. Founder Paul Jacquemin earned his master’s degree in Turfgrass Management and Agronomy from The Ohio State University, equipping him with the expertise to grow high-quality sod for both residential and commercial landscapes. The property on Hyland-Croy was utilized to meet their expanding business needs.
1987
Strawberry Patch
The roots of what is now a thriving market began in 1987, when Paul and Peg Jacquemin planted their first strawberry patch. The patch was a half-acre. At the time, it was simply a way to share their love of farming and fresh produce with the local community. Little did they know, it would grow into a beloved family tradition and a landmark destination for generations of visitors seeking the sweetness of fresh-picked strawberries. Thanks to the hard work, vision, and dedication of Paul and Peg, this small strawberry patch developed into the Jacquemin Farms we know today.

1990-1991
Pumpkin Patch
Our story has grown slowly and sweetly over the years—just like the crops we tend with care. In 1990, a few years after planting our first strawberry patch, we expanded our efforts and began growing field-grown mums and a small patch of pumpkins. The U-Pick strawberry patch was 3 acres, and we added 5 acres of pumpkins. What started as just a handful of plants quickly became a cherished part of our busy fall season. These small additions marked the beginning of our seasonal traditions and set the stage for what was to come.
1995-1999
Kerry Grows the Market
In 1995, Paul and Peg's daughter Kerry had graduated from college and begun graduate school at Ohio State, and she helped launch the vegetable business, growing sweet corn, tomatoes, beans, and squash. A year later, in 1996, the market officially opened, offering fresh produce, jams, jellies, and sauces. After graduating with a masters degree with horticulture from The Ohio State University in 1999, Kerry returned full-time to expand the farm. That same year, we started hosting fall field trips and grew to over 10 acres of pumpkins.

2000-2006
Growth
From 2000 to 2006, steady business growth led to gradual increases in production each year. All 43 growable acres of our farm were dedicated to growing vegetables and specialty crops—still rooted in the same values of family, quality, and community that started it all.
Around this time, we began making our famous cake donuts.
2019-2021
Bakery/Land Expansion
In 2021, looking toward the future, the family sold part of the original land and purchased 122 acres on Industrial Parkway to create more room for growth. That same year, the bakery opened—now serving fresh sandwiches, homemade baked goods, and our now-famous cake donuts in a dedicated space. The U-Pick farm moved to our Industrial Parkway location. Today, Jacquemin Farms continues to grow with the seasons, always rooted in the same values of family, hard work, and community.

2020
Sunflower Patch

In 2020, we added our first new U-Pick opportunity in two decades with the addition of our Sunflower Patch. The patch has become a space for families to enjoy the summer weather, admire the beautiful blooms, create bouquets, and take plenty of pictures on the farm.
2025
Market Renovations
Now in 2025, we’ve embraced even more exciting updates. The market has undergone thoughtful renovations over the past few off-seasons, including a fresh coat of paint to brighten the space, a reimagined layout for better flow, and the introduction of a new line of sauces and spreads. These changes help us better serve our customers while keeping the charm and warmth that make Jacquemin Farms feel like home.
